In this study, they found that there were many protein powders out there that had detectable levels of heavy metals.

This study drew a lot of criticism from many health groups criticizing the group for lack of transparency, not truly showing data, lacked peer review, and their methods of testing were not released. Which made it impossible for anyone to try an replicate the study.

It is important to remember that “detectable” levels of heavy metals do not mean unsafe.
